The most beautiful story of the cosmos
Reality is some 13,500 years old. Its birth was also the birth of space and of time. A journey through the history of reality that recounts that it is shaped by multiple stories that have a common core : they all build upon the most symmetrical and most perfect shape, which is also the most protective. And, deep down, if we are sure of something, it is that reality is round and its history, this most beautiful story of the cosmos, is one of soap bubbles.
Jorge Wagensberg and Pep Bou take to the stage to remind us of the beauty of everything surrounding us; to show us where we come from and predict where we might be heading. An oral-bubble-filled journey through the history of everything that exites us and fills us with awe. We are about to see a unique and awe-inspiring show, made up of unique characters who will speak of a universal topic: the beauty of our existence.
Bereshit is the first word of the first paragraph of the first book of the Bible. It means ‘in the beginning’. We open our eyes, we look around us and the questions immediately assail us: How did it all start? How did we get here? What was there before it all began? There are many ways to pose these questions and, above all, there are many more ways to answer them. The most beautiful history of the cosmos can be explained in many ways. For example, it can be explained artistically, cinematographically… and theatrically! It can be explained philosophically, poetically… and scientifically! It can be explained using objects, phenomena, images, metaphors…and bubbles! Bereshit is a show that aims to tell most beautiful story using theatre and science. To do so, we employ one of the most beautiful, symmetrical, ephemeral and delicate objects in the cosmos, an object made totally out of skin, a liquid skin: the bubble. Using bubbles, we will speak to you of the fundamental laws of nature. Using bubbles, we will try to understand them and we will try to oustmart them, even break them. Using bubbles, we will illustrate the most brilliant milestones in history, from the Big Bang to the first living being. Using bubbles, we will represent the most transcendent innovations ranging from the first bacterium to the first rational thought, journeying through eggs, mobility, intelligence, memory… Using bubbles, we will ponder the future. Long live reality, long live bubbles and hoping that natural selection is kind o us.
